Le sucre est absorb\u00e9 dans le sang via la paroi de l&rsquo;intestin gr\u00eale lors de la digestion. Normalement, l&rsquo;hormone insuline permet au sucre de passer du sang aux cellules, o\u00f9 il est utilis\u00e9 ou stock\u00e9 comme \u00e9nergie. Dans le cas du diab\u00e8te de type 2, ce syst\u00e8me ne fonctionne plus correctement, ce qui entra\u00eene une augmentation de la glyc\u00e9mie. Au d\u00e9but, le corps produit plus d&rsquo;insuline, mais \u00e0 un moment donn\u00e9, cela ne suffit plus et la glyc\u00e9mie reste \u00e9lev\u00e9e en permanence (ADA, 2014 ; Fonseca, 2009 ; Stumvoll et al., 2005).    <\/p>\n<p>La glyc\u00e9mie peut \u00eatre mesur\u00e9e soit comme glyc\u00e9mie \u00e0 domicile avec un lecteur de glyc\u00e9mie, soit comme glyc\u00e9mie \u00e0 long terme (HbA1c) chez le m\u00e9decin g\u00e9n\u00e9raliste. On parle de diagnostic de diab\u00e8te de type 2 \u00e0 partir d&rsquo;une glyc\u00e9mie \u00e0 long terme de \u22656,5% (HbA1c) (ADA PPC, 2022). <\/p>\n<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Le diab\u00e8te est-il r\u00e9versible ?<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Certains facteurs de risque du diab\u00e8te, comme l&rsquo;\u00e2ge ou la pr\u00e9disposition g\u00e9n\u00e9tique, ne peuvent pas \u00eatre modifi\u00e9s. Cependant, d&rsquo;autres, comme l&rsquo;ob\u00e9sit\u00e9, une mauvaise alimentation, le manque d&rsquo;activit\u00e9 physique et le tabagisme, peuvent \u00eatre influenc\u00e9s. En am\u00e9liorant ces facteurs, il est possible de pr\u00e9venir jusqu&rsquo;\u00e0 90% des cas de diab\u00e8te de type 2 (Schellenberg et al., 2013 ; Zheng et al., 2018).  <\/p>\n<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Comment puis-je influencer positivement mon diab\u00e8te ?<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>L&rsquo;objectif du traitement du diab\u00e8te de type 2 est de pr\u00e9venir les complications et de pr\u00e9server la qualit\u00e9 de vie (Davies et al., 2018). Un objectif r\u00e9aliste pour la glyc\u00e9mie \u00e0 long terme (HbA1c) est inf\u00e9rieur \u00e0 7% pour la plupart des adultes (ADA, 2018b). Toutefois, cet objectif doit toujours \u00eatre adapt\u00e9 \u00e0 chaque personne (ADA, 2018a).  <\/p>\n<p>Une activit\u00e9 physique r\u00e9guli\u00e8re et un r\u00e9gime alimentaire sain permettent de contr\u00f4ler la glyc\u00e9mie et de r\u00e9duire le risque de maladies cardiovasculaires (Colberg et al., 2016 ; Davies et al., 2018).<\/p>\n<p>Les conseils suivants peuvent contribuer \u00e0 votre mode de vie sain et \u00e0 la r\u00e9duction de votre glyc\u00e9mie :<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<h5><strong>Alimentation<\/strong><\/h5>\n<p>Chez les personnes atteintes de diab\u00e8te de type 2, des habitudes alimentaires \u00e9quilibr\u00e9es permettent de r\u00e9duire la r\u00e9ponse glyc\u00e9mique post-prandiale et la r\u00e9sistance \u00e0 l&rsquo;insuline, et favorisent \u00e9galement la perte de poids et le contr\u00f4le des facteurs de risque cardiovasculaire (Franz et al., 2015 ; Russell et al., 2016).<\/p>\n<p>Diff\u00e9rents concepts alimentaires se sont av\u00e9r\u00e9s utiles pour am\u00e9liorer et stabiliser la glyc\u00e9mie, mais il n&rsquo;est pas possible de d\u00e9terminer de mani\u00e8re d\u00e9finitive quel concept alimentaire est le plus appropri\u00e9. Il est donc recommand\u00e9 de se concentrer sur les facteurs communs \u00e0 tous ces concepts alimentaires : <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Mangez <strong>beaucoup de l\u00e9gumes<\/strong>, en particulier ceux qui contiennent peu d&rsquo;amidon comme le chou, les tomates, les concombres et les brocolis.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Minimisez les sucres ajout\u00e9s<\/strong> dans vos aliments. Les boissons sucr\u00e9es ou m\u00eame les yaourts, par exemple, contiennent souvent du sucre suppl\u00e9mentaire. <\/li>\n<li><strong>R\u00e9duisez les c\u00e9r\u00e9ales raffin\u00e9es <\/strong>dans votre alimentation. Cela inclut entre autres les produits \u00e0 base de farine blanche et les cornflakes. <\/li>\n<li>\u00c9vitez les aliments fortement transform\u00e9s et mangez plus d&rsquo;<strong>aliments non transform\u00e9s<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h5><strong>Mouvement<\/strong><\/h5>\n<p>L&rsquo;activit\u00e9 physique, c&rsquo;est-\u00e0-dire l&rsquo;exercice, a d&rsquo;innombrables effets positifs : elle am\u00e9liore le contr\u00f4le de la glyc\u00e9mie, r\u00e9duit les facteurs de risque cardiovasculaire et aide \u00e0 r\u00e9guler le poids (Chudyk &amp; Petrella, 2011 ; Lin et al., 2015).<\/p>\n<p>Les diff\u00e9rents types d&rsquo;exercice ont des effets diff\u00e9rents :<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>L&rsquo;exercice a\u00e9robie<\/strong> &#8211; qui comprend la marche, la course, le v\u00e9lo et la natation &#8211; am\u00e9liore la sensibilit\u00e9 \u00e0 l&rsquo;insuline, r\u00e9duit la glyc\u00e9mie \u00e0 long terme, les triglyc\u00e9rides, la pression art\u00e9rielle et la r\u00e9sistance \u00e0 l&rsquo;insuline (Bacchi et al., 2012 ; Heberle et al., 2021 ; Sampath Kumar et al., 2019). Cependant, comme ces effets ne durent pas tr\u00e8s longtemps, il est recommand\u00e9 de faire de l&rsquo;exercice quotidiennement \u00e0 intensit\u00e9 mod\u00e9r\u00e9e ou \u00e9lev\u00e9e (Hawley &amp; Lessard, 2007). <\/li>\n<li><strong>La musculation<\/strong> augmente la masse musculaire et la force et am\u00e9liore la sensibilit\u00e9 \u00e0 l&rsquo;insuline, le contr\u00f4le glyc\u00e9mique et la glyc\u00e9mie chez les personnes atteintes de diab\u00e8te de type 2 (Bacchi et al., 2012 ; Gordon et al., 2009).<\/li>\n<li>En g\u00e9n\u00e9ral, il est recommand\u00e9 aux adultes de <strong>pratiquer 150 minutes d&rsquo;activit\u00e9 physique<\/strong> d&rsquo;intensit\u00e9 mod\u00e9r\u00e9e par semaine. L&rsquo;exercice physique peut donc aider l&rsquo;insuline, qui n&rsquo;agit plus suffisamment en cas de diab\u00e8te, et faire baisser la glyc\u00e9mie. Je vous recommande d&rsquo;int\u00e9grer chaque jour de courtes s\u00e9ances d&rsquo;exercice physique dans votre vie quotidienne afin de r\u00e9duire naturellement votre glyc\u00e9mie. ces trois aspects :<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Adoptez une alimentation \u00e9quilibr\u00e9e en mangeant beaucoup de l\u00e9gumes et d&rsquo;aliments non transform\u00e9s.<\/li>\n<li>Pratiquez chaque jour une activit\u00e9 physique d&rsquo;intensit\u00e9 au moins mod\u00e9r\u00e9e, c&rsquo;est-\u00e0-dire qui demande un peu d&rsquo;effort, mais qui vous permette de parler.<\/li>\n<li>Travaillez votre force deux \u00e0 trois fois par semaine. Pr\u00e9voyez au moins un jour de repos entre chaque s\u00e9ance de musculation. <\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Veuillez consulter un professionnel de la sant\u00e9 avant d&rsquo;adapter votre mode de vie, surtout si vous suivez une insulinoth\u00e9rapie ou un traitement par <span class=\"cf0\">sulfonylur\u00e9es.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>Une intervention de style de vie sur le diab\u00e8te de type 2 comporte diff\u00e9rents aspects et doit \u00eatre adapt\u00e9e \u00e0 vos besoins individuels.
